Foot/Mouth Disease and First Ear Infection

As soon as everybody started to feel healthy guess who gets sick again. Princess Sophia the 1st. She managed to get Foot/Mouth from one her BF (Devon) we think...not for sure...and she is had to stay home all week. She is pretty healthy just covered with a ugly rash. ALL over. It seems to be clearing up in a few places. Monday we have to take her back to daycare. I gave it a full week and she has no fever. Supposedly they are not contagious after a week of getting it. Sandro and I had to switch off days. It's extremely hard to work from home 8 months old going on 2 years mentally. All day she wants attention. She wants to crawl and destroy everything she sees. Love her to death but that is hard to manage when you are trying to have a conference call or deal with a customer. Luckily I had a boss that went through it and understands. I am seriously lucky.

Pictures of the week:

nom nom ... breakfast taste good

Maybe Apollo will like it too! ;) Bad girl!

8 Months = My Big girl is Growing up

It was a pretty good week until we got up to Sunday. Sandro was miserably sick. I actually felt pretty good until Monday night. Sandro and I had a date night Saturday, that included the new Karate Kid and sushi. We think it may have been the Sushi that got us sick. I hope we are finally better now. I just have to eat small meals.

It looks like WW may be working. At least with the combination with a touch of food poisoning. I lost 6.3 pounds this week. Usually the first week of WW I lose a lot. Then I balance out to 1-2 pounds a week which is perfectly fine with me. My very first goal is to lose 5% which at the moment I am about 5.5 pounds away..then my next goal is to get to my pre-pregnancy weight..then I can work on getting to my weight when we got married, then finally the "vanity pounds" as I call it. At least I got a good start. It was especially difficult this weekend because I started my period (2nd one post partum) and I wanted to binge on junk food so bad. One thing I learned so far it's not about the calories in that keeps up my supply, it's about how much water I drink. 8 glasses (7 at work every day no matter what) I still can pump my regular 4-5 ounces a day. I wish I figured that out earlier. I did work out every day last week. I couldn't work out Monday or Tuesday due to my little stomach issue..but I will be back to working out today.

Anyhoo..Sophia is a total ham lately. She thinks that anything that she sees is her toy. Cords, lotion bottles, remotes, phones, PlayStation controllers...etc. Beware if you put her on the floor to sit on her mat she may be clear across room to get to one of her "toys" in 5 seconds flat. She does a glorified army crawl...she isn't on her knees just yet. Once she figures it out I am sure there will be no stopping her. She never wants to play with stuff that are really her toys. She rather play with whatever else. I have a few videos I hope to upload soon.

Pictures of the week:

How I found Missy Miss in the early morning hours before DC. Butt all hiked up in the air in a fetal position. How she ends up this way is beyond me.
MMMM Lotion...it was empty but thought it was the best toy ever.
Of course the remote that she will steal.
She is trying to pose like Apollo. Don't they look alike?

Great Week

What seemed to be a endless cycle of teething and fever finally stopped on Tuesday and regular happy baby was back in business. She was back to her crazy antics and super cute mood again. However, she still has some allergies giving her a slight cough. I really do think it's this horrible air.

Well it's time to start the end of our BF journey. I have decided to switch her to formula during the day and save up a good stash. I am aiming for about 20 ounces a week for about 4 weeks. Making 80 ounces of stored away just in case. I will continue to BF in the mornings and the evenings and on the weekend. I think I did good. With my poor supply issues I almost gave up so many times. I am sad it's ending but in a way I am really proud of how far I have come. Sophia is eating a ton more solids now so I think it's time to transition. I do think if I could produce more I would have made it a long further, but then again I don't want to make the weaning to difficult for Sophia or myself.

Also I have decided to join Weight Watchers online again. My goal is to get down to a comfortable weight. I have only been gaining weight since I started working out so I really think it's has to do with my diet. Perhaps I will update weekly or at the very least monthly. I want to get comfortable in my skin again. At the moment I feel like I have just given up. It doesn't help that Sandro can lose weight like it's nothing. I just have a crazy love for food and I need to keep track of how many calories I am getting in. Since I am still BF I get 35 points and that to me is a lot. But we will see how that works out.

Remember this one? From Nov 09...so cute and small, and not smiling!

Look at her now! Bath time is her favorite time of the night!

Memorial Day Weekend

I had lots of plans of fun and excitement planned for our first three day weekend at home but they kind of fell through. Sophia got a weird fever and her temp was about 103-102 for about 3 days. As soon as the fever stopped her teething increased to a whole new level. She was in pain for about 48 hours. I gave her teething tablets and Motrin which seemed to help but made her a bit drowsy. Yesterday was the first day she was back to normal crazy giggling Sophia. I am just hoping the next three day weekend will be better. Daddy stayed home with her on Friday. I think secretly he really enjoys staying home with Sophia. He is just a good daddy like that.

Sophia has been really wanting to crawl. I think she is getting closer and closer every day. She has the army crawl down. However, she has not been brave enough to try it on her knees. She will get there in no time. When I leave her at daycare I take her out of her car seat and place her on the playmate. She just sits up (unassisted) and smiles. She loves her Independence. She loves to play with her boyfriend Devon who is about month older. I think she is learning tricks from him. I was told that he pulled her hair and she then nibbled on his toes. (teething) I think we may have a cute flirt on our hands. I do have to say that she seems to love her daycare. Always happy to be there and so far not cried once when we leave her.
