All is good with Babyjuric...

So my appointment went really well. I gained 3 pounds..so I am up total 23. Nothing was suggested about watching my diet so I am okay with gaining. My belly is definitely bigger so I expected it. The heartbeat was in the strong 150's...it's a little higher than last time. Sandro blames the Nachos. (He had took me to lunch) As she was getting the heartbeat babygirl decided to kick the doppler. I felt it nice and strong. She is picky about her space. ;) I asked the Doctor about about the swelling and my heartburn and she told me it was completely normal but she still asked to see my feet. She just wanted to check the seriousness of it. She told it didn't look bad at all. I asked her about my Rhogam shot and asked if I needed to get another one since I took mine so early in this pregnancy. She insisted that I go ahead and get it in the 28 week and that I had to get it that day. Another $120 dollars gone. :) At least I was able to get it today and didn't have to come back. I am glad I mentioned it. I will have to get another when I give birth. Overall a great appointment. Baby is doing fine. I go back again August 12th. Yep..every two weeks now.

Edit: Just now baby girl kicked me and I can see it from the outside. It's the first time. Finally she is in my belly vrs being down low. It's so cool to watch. Took almost 29 weeks to see this. Wow..I am truly amazed.

Weekly Update

How far along? 28 weeks 1 Day
Total weight gain/loss: Up 20 per last Dr. Appointment. Have another Dr's on Thursday.
Stretch marks? Same as last weeks. Itchy as ever though. DH rubs Aveeno on my belly at night. He says he can feel where the baby is and always guessing the way it's positioned.
Sleep: Some nights are hard. Some nights (like last night) I was in heaven. Only got up to pee once. Baby was sleeping well after a really active day. She likes to wake some times really early. Especially on the weekends.
Best moment this week: Getting a snow cone with Sandro on a mini Date. Yumm!
Movement: I think she has repositioned her self in the belly. I am feeling kicks but towards my belly button. Her head seems low now. Sometimes I still get punched in the bladder though.
Food cravings: I guess a snow cone. But honestly I haven't been able to eat much. I get miserable heartburn. From just about anything now. I am eating tums all day (mainly in the evenings)
Labor Signs: Nope..Many weeks away from this. (12 weeks)
What I miss: Eating my favorite foods without being miserable.
What I am looking forward to: My shower in a September. It will be nice to have my family and friends there. Though I will be pretty pregnant by then. ;)
Weekly Wisdom: Just because your a pregnant does not mean you can eat what you want. But I am sure I covered this already. It (the heartburn) gets worse in the 3 tri. The only remedy that remotely helps me is sitting up for a while or walking around. It's the laying down that brings it on.
Milestones: No milestones this week. I like the say the next big one is 37 weeks (which is considered full term) but that is a ways off. There is bound to be one in between.

There wasn't happening in the Juric home this weekend. I should have been organizing but I couldn't gather the energy. Especially on Sunday where I woke up at 5:30. I ended up taking a 3 hour nap that morning. By the time we went to work out (took 2 hours) It took forever to do dinner and it was already bed time again. Lately I am swelling more in my feet. I went out and bought two pairs of shoes ... one in 9.5 and the other in 10. My normal size is 8.5-9. So my feet apparently are growing/swelling. On top of that my size 4.5 wedding ring won't go on without hurting so I kinda just stashed them away. All of this is water weight I am sure.

Here is a pic from yesterday. If you compare it to 17 weeks you can see how much I have grown. Ignore my goofy grin! And my horrible camera. I left my good one in Austin. (sigh)
Here is the crepe myrtle that I took from Nana's house. I just wanted to show how pretty it bloomed. It looks far better than the ones that we planted last year. So full and pretty. It likes it new home. It makes me think of Nana every time I see it. I feel like she is watching over us everyday.

Week 28

Strangely going into the 3rd trimester I have been having new symptoms or more intense symptoms. While I still feel pretty good most days I am starting to notice the swelling now. I also notice it's very dependent on what I eat and I swell more in the evenings and when I sleep. This morning I woke up with this feeling that my knee was injured. I worked out yesterday but I felt wonderful. It was just a normal 25-30 min walk on a treadmill but I had it just a tad faster than normal. My heart rate was normal and overall I was feeling pretty good at the pace I was going. I am not sure if this caused the swelling that seems to be in in my knee. It feels very stiff. I feel like I was running a marathon in my sleep or something. Also I have been waking up with my hands and feet numb. You know that feeling you get when your feet fall asleep? I know it's due to circulation when you sleep but it just feels so bizarre. Of course the heartburn is more increased now. Sometimes it appears during the day...instead of when I sleep.

Last night I had the craziest dream about my brother and my dad's side of the family. I dreamed that my brother had a girlfriend that he wanted to marry and he wanted to do it at my Dad's house. He asked me to plan it and get everything ready within a 24 hour period. This would also require that I get the Palomares family together as quickly as possible. In the dream I do remember feeling overwhelmed and running around trying to organize everything. Maybe my body was tensing up. I don't know. The dream seemed so real. I only woke up once last night and I remember being my kneeing being hard to stand on as I walked to the restroom. I elevated my knee after that...but since it was 3 a.m. that was only a few hours.

Last night I went into the nursery and played some of the nursery ocean lullaby's to the baby. Vesna had got me this really good collection that has all these different versions of lullaby's. I plugged in the headphones and I pressed them to the belly so the baby could here well. Nice and low. They say babies can hear at this time.

So here is what is happening in Week 28.

By your 28th week of pregnancy, your baby is about 16 inches long and weighs 3-1/2 to 4 pounds. The skin is wrinkled but will become less so as more subcutaneous fat, the layer of fat just under the skin, is laid down in the next few weeks. Fine downy hair, called lanugo, and a waxy white protective substance covering the skin, called vernix, are present on the baby's body. The baby's eyes are open. The eyebrows and eyelashes were formed in the fourth month. The baby sucks its thumb and its taste buds have developed. The baby kicks, stretches, and moves frequently in the uterus. These movements, which are readily observable to others, are often keenly felt by the mother. Some mothers may find that the pressure of the growing uterus against the stomach by this week causes heartburn. The fundus, the top of the uterus, is now about one-third of the distance between the umbilicus (bellybutton) and the xiphoid cartilage. Constipation may also occur due to uterine pressure on the lower colon, as well as hormonal slowing of peristalsis (the process of excreting waste). Uterine growth combined with increased maternal weight gain contribute to a recurrence of fatigue similar to that during the early weeks of pregnancy.

Weekly Update

How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: According to the doctor's office I am up 20. (Almost exactly)
Stretch marks? The linea negra has grown. No new stretch marks just old ones reappearing.
Sleep: Some nights are better than others.
Best moment this week: Visiting with Amber. She made Chicken enchiladas with all the fixings and brought it over to my house. It was fantastic. I had seconds.
Movement: She likes the mornings I have noticed. However, I can feel her a little each hour. Sometimes doing flips or rolls. But I think I am starting to feel her REAL kicks.
Food cravings: I would have to say Mexican. I was having a killer craving for Chicken Fajitas nachos on Saturday.
Labor Signs: Nope..Many weeks away from this. (13 weeks)
What I miss: To tolerate the heat. It's crazy miserable lately.
What I am looking forward to: I am looking forward to finishing up this pregnancy and meeting our little girl. I am ready for that big change everyone keeps talking about.
Weekly Wisdom: Putting things together aren't that easy as I once thought especially if the instructions don't have good pictures. Luckily I had someone smarter than I am in the room. Thanks Amber for all your help! Oh and power tools help!
Milestones: Holy crap! I am in the 3rd tri. I can not believe it at all. 3 more months. 91 days and 13 weeks.

Yeah I guess you can say that is baby huh? Here is me at 10 weeks wearing the same thing. Except I am wearing maternity pants below. Oh My the belly has grown.
The outfit that Vesna Finished. (minus the hat, she kept that cause she wants to do another) She did such an amazing job. She has started her second outfit. I have been told that she has stopped cleaning and doing other stuff so she can knit. :)
The awesome swing that Amber let me have. Her sister had twins so they had two. One less thing I have to register for or buy. Love it. Works prefectly.
Me in the new dress. I look terrible in this picture. I was way bloated from all the food I ingested. They are so comfortable.
Close up of the valance.

Norma decided to redo the valance. I think it matches very well. It's an exact replica of the border. So cute. It looks so beautiful. I figure I can switch it out when the baby gets older with the pink one. :) Love it!
The guys where watching a boy movie and we decided to put it together. One little mistake and we it resolved quickly. It is really sturdy and is holding up well for target stuff. I can get more storage bins draws if I need to. Oh and it looks really freaking cute. Notice that little radio. I have had that almost 10 years. Goes great in the room.
The mattress came in this week. Fits perfectly and got it at a bargain price of $118 for an organic mattress. Thank you Costco!

So I passed.

So I passed the yucky Glucose Screening. They did check for anemia and I am not anemic per say but I do have a low blood platelet count. Which I have had before I was pregnant for the last 8 years (ever since they started taking my blood). I am at 108 and they don't want me to go below 80. So they will probably test me later to see if it's still low. Passing the Glucose test is a good thing. I don't have to go back to take a second test that is 3 hours long. The day of the test I limited my carbs to less than 30 grams (two pieces of whole wheat bread) and at protein the rest of the day. My appointment was in the afternoon...usually they do it in the morning. I had to drink this nasty orange flavored sugar glucose drink. It wasn't as bad I thought ... just very sweet.

I have to say I LOVE my doctor and the entire staff there. They always put everything at ease and it's not a painful trip to the doctor. I don't dread it like I do other doctor's appointments, even the weighing part. I don't wait long in the lobby and everyone is very nice and non pushy. When I went in for my appointment they weighed me and took my blood pressure like normal. Never mentioning the fact that I gained to much. Always telling me that I am looking healthy and always with a smile.

This last time I went the doctor measured my belly and told me that the baby moved so they had to measure it again. She was like you seem to be growing very well. My bump was on the smaller side the month before. She told me I am supposed to grow and it's healthy growth and my weight looked right on track. (even if I gained 20 pounds) She wasn't concerned at all. She was able to find the heartbeat really fast. It was beating away in the 140's. (a little lower but it's normal) I asked her about child birth classes and told her I plan to take a natural birth class. She highly recommends it if I am planning to go this way. (Some doctors are anti natural child birth) I love that she is supportive and thinks it's very possible. I did not get a since of any negativity of the possibility of going natural. I of course am keeping a open mind about it. I don't know how bad it will be until it's time. But I would like to go in there with a positive outlook and think I can do it. They took my blood and that was it. Great appointment. I go back in two weeks. Which means only one thing...here I come 3rd tri. :)

Week 27

Overall I am feeling pretty good. I feel bloated and like I put on weight but I am not uncomfortable. I am keeping up with working out on a regular basis. Sure it's not intense. Just walking on a treadmill. I eat about the same as I did before but I do indulge a little on portion sizes. I don't have any crazy cravings. Maybe it will all change in the final tri which is coming up next week. I hope the appointment goes well but I don't think I will have any problems. The heat is the craziest part of this pregnancy so far. Can't walk outside without sweating a bucket. At the moment I seem to have the normal energy level. Today though I feel hungry because I can't have much carbs. I have a feeling by 4 this afternoon I will want to jump somebody to get my fix.

So here is what is happening in Week 27.

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

Weekly Update

How far along? 26 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I think I am up about 18 pound gain. Sigh.
Stretch marks? The same as last week. I know it's only going to get worse.
Sleep: This weekend I slept like crap. But last night I slept much better. Baby is on her own schedule and she is a early bird. (Just like her mama) Though on the weekends I wish she would sleep in just a little bit.
Best moment this week: Getting the crib and other baby stuff set up.
Movement: She is very active some days still. This morning she has only kicked me a few times.
Food cravings: Milk. I can drink it all day. In the first tri it would get me sick. Now it's all I want. Sandro almost ventured out one night to get it because I was driving him that crazy over it. This week we have 1 1/2 gallons to keep us well stocked. It's expensive too. Since Sandro only gets the organic kind but I love it.
Labor Signs: Nope..Many weeks away from this. (14 weeks)
What I miss: The winter. It has to be the hottest damm summer in Texas. Going outside is a chore. Yesterday I was feeling faint from just getting to the car. It's really flipping crazy.
What I am looking forward to: The Bradley Classes (Natural Birthing Class) we will start to take at the end of August. It's on a Sunday which is great. I think by this time it will feel so real.
Weekly Wisdom: Spend some time getting to know the different baby items that you thought where so easy. I spent a hour or so putting the pack and play together (which is supposed to be a easy set up for travel) but the instructions talked in a different language and where hard to follow. I got it eventually but man could they make it any more complicated. At least it's a lot easier to take down. No wonder this is a place you can put the instructions when you pack it up.
Milestones: I am now in the double digits. I have also reached 26 weeks. Baby can technically survive outside of the womb. But of course I want her to stay in there as long as possible. I am about a week away from being in the third trimester. That is when the real gaining will begin.

This weekend Sandro and his family went to pick up the crib and dresser and also purchase some of the major items like carseat, pack and play, and stroller. (His family got us these items) The crib was a gift from my Dad and Norma. It's a lot prettier in person. The color is so beautiful and classic. I like it a lot more than the pictures. It's nice and solid. The dresser came fully assembled which was a relief for Sandro. But I Sandro did get help from his dad to assemble the crib. I repaid him in Spinach Mushroom Quiche. *Which I shed tears over for no reason, basically it had to much liquid and Sandro was making fun over me getting upset...so I cried (pregnancy hormones) oh and it still came out perfect. I was just being a baby.*

I put a mini video of the nursery in a more completed state. The slideshow is for my mom who always says I don't give her picture options. So excuse the redundancy.

Weekly Update

How far along? 25 Weeks 2 Days
Total weight gain/loss: I am afraid to get on the scale. :) (ditto last week)
Maternity clothes? Yes. Pretty exclusively.
Stretch marks? Yes. They are getting bigger and more obvious. Sandro rubs my belly with lotion every night since my belly is starting to itch more. My favorite time of the day.
Sleep: Good for the most part but the dreams still get a bit weirder and weirder. I dreamed I started spotting again. I think in my dream I was really stressed about Nana's grave. So it just started up again. Weird. Of course this dream hasn't come true! Thank God!
Best moment this week: Feeling the baby different types of moves. Sometimes flips and sometimes turns but some times just real strong kicks.
Movement: See above. Some days are still quieter than others.
Food cravings: No real cravings this week. Sandro did allow me to get Chipotle yesterday though. That was nice. It tasted a little off. Something was missing.
Labor Signs: Nope..Many weeks away from this. (15 weeks)
What I miss: Bending over with out my belly getting in the way.
What I am looking forward to: Getting my crib furniture this weekend. Working on misc projects.
Weekly Wisdom: Buy or allow people to give you their used clothes. The baby will grew really fast and it's best not to spend a small fortune on clothes. Also, wait for your baby shower first before you start buying clothes. (even used) You will be amazed with people give away or keep thinking they would have another child one day.
Milestones: Getting really close to being in the double digits.

Here is a large sack of baby clothes given to me from one of my MIL coworker. I plan on getting her a nice thank you card and a Starbucks gift card. I don't even know this lady but it sure was kind of her to give me all of her girl baby clothes. She isn't planning to have any more kids so it was a really sweet gesture.
Aunt Randi went a little nuts on baby clothes shopping. In total about 11 outfits all ranging in sizes up to 6 months. Thank you Aunt Randi! All of them super cute.
I didn't pull out the tub of clothes and blankets my mom gave me. These are all my baby clothes she decided to store away for when/if she had another child. 28 years old and some are in excellent condition. The tub is full. Here is a picture of it all together. Oh and notice a lovely picture of me.
Here is a rocker my mom had for me. I plan to repaint it to match my colors and theme. It's so tiny. It's about 1/4 of the size of the big rocker. Not sure if babyjuric is going to use it but it will be cute in the room.
Here is the window curtain with the sheer window panel. I chose lemonade pink because it really brings out all the colors I used. I thought one touch of pink couldn't hurt. (mom actually helped pick this color)
Here is the rocking chair and the ottoman. My stepmother said she would recover a pad for the chair. The ottoman will have to be recovered as well to match the colors. This rocking chair my mom used with when I was a baby. Still in great condition. The ottoman actually belonged to my great grandmother.
And here is the final project I started yesterday. It's actually a bookcase that belonged to my brothers bunk bed. It's real sturdy wood. I sanded it and I start to prime it. I am about half way through. I plan to paint it a mystery color that is a surprise.
